Vienna Hoang is the Resource Manager covering contracts for Supported Employment and Independent Living Services for Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS). Vienna serves the SILC as an ex-officio non-voting SILC member, representing IVRS. Prior to her Resource Manager position, she was the Assistive Technology Counselor Specialist for IVRS. She was also formerly a counselor for IVRS, and an Employment Coordinator for House of Mercy where she ran the employment program for women with dual diagnoses.
Vienna studied mechanical engineering, psychology, journalism, and mass communication, and received her BS degrees from the University of Iowa. She received her Masters in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Drake University, and received her Doctorate of Education from Northwestern University.
Vienna has been serving Iowans with disabilities for almost 30 years. She has been the recipient of the Bill Donahue Job Placement Award. In her current role, she provides supports to counselors, Community Rehabilitation Providers (CRPs), and partnering agencies.
